THE NEW ORDAINED BISHOP SAN

The new ordained Bishop

msgr-silvester

Most Rev. Silvester San, DD

Last February 19th, our friend, Msgr. Silvester San has been ordained bishop of the diocese of Denpasar on the island of Bali. His motto is “DEUS INCREMENTUM DEDIT” 1Cor 3:7.

The diocese comprises the islands of Bali, Lombok, Sumba and Sumbawa. Balinese Catholics are few in number, only about 5.000 from the 34.000 faithful in the diocese. The greater part are migrants from other parts of Indonesia.

Let us pray that under the leadership of Bishop  Silvester San as their shepherd the Church may grow and yield abundant fruit for the Kingdom.

Bible Congress for the Middle East

Fr. Ayoub Chahwan expressed his gratitude for our prayers for the Bible Congress held in Lebanon from January 25th to 31st. of this year.

We will certainly keep praying for the biblical apostolate in Lebanon:

fr-ayoub“Thank God, the congress was a real success. I hardly remember facing a problem: it was smooth and extremely interesting. Meeting all these nice persons in love with the Word of God, facing all kind of difficulties or dangers to reach Lebanon, coming from countries where they are in difficult situations, believe me it needs a big courage. Finding out that they keep on struggling to spread the Word in places where they are threatened, that is absolutely fantastic. This is what I call a divine achievement.”
