IN DAR ES SALAM, TANZANIA 2008
I was so happy to see the photo that Fr. Doms posted at our CBF-SEA website – he and Guido with a happy smile!
Fr. Guido was often serious, concerned and took to heart whatever he was doing or being tasked to do. He was reliable, hardworking, friendly, a listener and a doer. That was how I came to know Fr. Guido when we used to meet in the CBF workshops and assemblies especially during our sub-region South East Asian workshops. He was in Indonesia then. Later he was given a wider role and stayed at the SVD Generalate in Rome. Every now and then, I get to receive information, news and articles from him on the biblical pastoral ministry particularly done by the SVDs everywhere. It was a constant reminder and an encouragement to continue the work no matter how difficult it could be sometimes.
After long years of suffering, the good Lord allowed him to rest and to be with Him in His house. Guido must be smiling so beautifully from there, looking at us, telling us to move on, and carry on the biblical pastoral ministry that he loved so much.
I want to remember Fr. Guido in that smile. It’s a smile of joy and contentment. I could hear him say “I did my best. Continue doing yours. It is always a joy to serve the Lord!”
Rest in peace, Fr. Guido! Pray for us!

Fr. Guido Tisera, SVD
Thank you for publishing photos of Guido and his email from Timor. I have already saved the photos as a sweet memory of my real friend.
He is a consistent person throughout his life, being focused to his job, showing a persistent struggle to recover from his illness. Guido is not only excellently competent in the Bible studies but also becomes “the Bible” itself in his personality and behaviour.
Although he was suffering of his illness, on January 30, 2010, he participated in the wedding service of my first daughter and my (second) wedding service as well on June 27, 2010. I do miss him very much. I am very proud of him.
